SAP Dosing Systems

SAP is added to diapers, femcare and adult incontinence products in one of two ways:
  1. For diapers and heavy incontinence products, the SAP is normally blended with fluff pulp in a continuous stream before being separated into pockets in a forming drum to produce the absorbent core.

  2. In femcare and lighter absorbency applications, an airlaid material is often used as the absorbent core. Additional absorbency is then provided by adding a layer of SAP on top of the airlaid material to allow several product types to be produced on the same machine.

Naturally, raw material costs are a concern. It is increasingly important, therefore, for manufacturers to ensure optimal SAP usage at all times – enough to maintain product integrity, yet minimise wastage by ensuring SAP weight accuracy.

With its high speed sampling system, you can be confident of the SAPplicator accuracy – whether it be on a 200 pieces/min adult incontinence line, or an 1800 pieces/min femcare line.

ACCURATE APPLICATION – WHATEVER THE GRADE

Flow characteristics of SAP can vary widely from batch to batch, with inconsistent bulk densities – but Acrison’s market leading SAPplicator range takes this in its stride.

Developed with extensive R&D into SAP characteristics, the SAPplicator offers unrivalled accuracy and flexibility – whatever the grade.
